This monthly meeting with our Chicas Adelante was an eventful one, as the Chica Brava team made the official announcement of our 2015/2016 Camp Bella participants! Who is it you say? You’ll have to wait and find out!

We started out our Saturday by a discussion on how we, as women, can achieve our dreams and aspirations through support and empowerment. Some of the chicas want to be Doctors, Lawyers and even Marine Biologists! The lists goes on and on, but what many of these young girls realized through our conversation is… yes they can! Or as we like to say, sí se peude!

This then lead to their projects where they split up into groups to put together a presentation to include a type of camp they would like to run to empower women, as Chica Brava does with our Annual Charity Surf Camp – Camp Bella. We all LOVE watching their creative minds flow, as the girls presented a Graphic Design Camp, a Soccer Camp and even a water based camp with Diving/Snorkeling in the Corn Islands!

The Chica Brava team was then last to present their camp idea, which is where we spoke about Camp Bella. Camp Bella an annual charitable surf camp empowerment program for young women in Nicaragua, hosted by Chica Brava. We were excited to announce that this year, we are focusing on our local community of 13 young women from San Juan del Sur… our Chicas Adelantes! Check out the video below for more information on Camp Bella:

This surfing and personal development program is made possible through many generous donations from people like you from around the world and companies in San Juan del Sur and we excitedly welcome you to get involved. Please see the link below for more information on how you can be a part of making a difference. Muchas Gracias!
