Some call it chilling. Some call it relaxing. At Chica Brava, we call it ‘chillaxing’. The first week of April was rung in proper by four ladies from different ends of the globe, all of whom had one thing in common; a talent for the art of ‘chillaxing’.

Our diverse group was made up of two Canadians from the Toronto area, Rachael and Lee-Ann, who became friends through their work in HR but have since learned that taking vacation together is the bomb. Kasha, from Alaska, is a tattoo artist and snowboarder who also knows how to boogie down on the dance floor (or on top of a car, whatever works…). Last to join us was Joanna from Amsterdam, a pharmacist who recently completed her Ph.D. and needed some much deserved down time.

All the ladies excelled in the water, surfing at all the different beaches in the area, of which Remanso was their favorite.  With Elsi as their instructor, everyone was surfing green waves by the end of the week, with a very advanced surfer attitude of chillax. By this I mean, that to be an ‘advanced’ surfer, you have to have fun no matter what. Some days are better than others, and some days are frustrating, but if you can always get in and out of the water with a positive surf stoke, you are always going to have fun. That’s what made these ladies expert chillaxers….no matter what they were having fun, in and out of the water. After all, isn’t that what vacation is all about?

Check out Joanna’s video of her experience at the Surf House, and how she made her decision to come to Chica Brava!!!

Some highlights were a great session at Playa Hermosa, surfing the afternoon away, a barbeque at Elsi’s with a group of local surfers, trying every single taco the area had to offer (Tacos Locos at Maderas was the favorite), the great group vibe, and the Catamaran trip at the end of the week.

Thanks for the fun surfs and solid laughs, ladies! Until next time, keep chillaxing!
