Stellar week of 3 returning client surfer Chicas to the Surf House…. and SURPRISE we let two of them bring CHICOS!!! There are only a few special weeks a year that Chica Brava opens the doors to a host a CoEd camp and this past week two amazing gentlemen joined their chica’s-n-crime on an adventure of a life time!

Our Surf Betty came back to us this week! Swiss by birth and now living in Costa Rica working at a surf camp – …. not a bad career choice 😉 Betty scooted on up to Nica – tabla mass pequena  in tow – ready to master her board in Nicaragua. She did just that on day three at Playa Eskameka! Taking an epic right (caught on film by our photog Jerson, Thanks buddy!) and using great eye contact with the wave she was flying down the line on lefts. Such a bright and shining person in and out of the water, Betty brought so much laughter and fun to our week.

Bostonian Jackie returned to us with her Brazilian husband Thiago this week – VIVA BRAZIL!!! Jackie’s surf skills soared this week. She was up and on any wave that came through… charging a huge swell that hit this week – and had an EPIC left at Playa Maderas… YEWWWWWW CHARGE IT CHICA!!! Totally had to pick our jaws up off the ground after that one. And as for Thiago, he is THE MAN. Such a joy to be around in the line up and on the shore. Thiago always has a joke and a smile… and some pretty great musica to jam to on our road trips out to the beach. Coming in with zero surf experience, Thiago blew us away with his quick connection with the sport. Accomplishing his goal of “standing up” on his first wave…. He was on the outside by second session with the whole crew and handled in the big waves all week! A stunning couple we cannot wait to see you both again! …..Stay tuned to hear more about Jackie’s adventures with Chica Brava as she stays on for another week at Surf House!

San Franciscan based Libby and Alex came for a week of warm water surfing …. and a bit of a romantic getaway 😉 The pair left their wetsuits, hoods, booties, and gloves at home – thats way too much equipment for my liking! – and packed their bags with cowboy hats, ‘kinis and board shorts- thats more like it! Lots of epic moments with this pair. Libby worked on reading waves this week, angling for lefts and rights… totally handling some huge drops and riding them all the way home! Alex showed great skill improvement in his surf this week as well, after lifting his eyes to look at the top third of the wave, Alex was able to angle into the wave and pop up into some great rides down the line! Alex was also able to open our eyes and warm our hearts in the greatest showcase of love I have yet to see. After a morning of dawn patrol surfing, the chicas and chicos took off for a relaxing catamaran ride along the coast. After arriving at a private white sand beach, the pair swam to shore and alex popped a question that brought smiles to our eyes and poured joy through our hearts.

This week was so special. I am so grateful to have been a part of it, and to have spent moments in the water with you all as you move along your journeys.

Enjoy your moments and stay stoked!
