On March 14th, we embarked on an epic team trip to Granada, Nicaragua! It was a family affair, because the kids joined in too. What an amazing adventure and awesome time for the Chica Brava team to bond! We ate way too much breakfast, rode in horse drawn carriages and cruised around the lake exploring the Isletas.

As we piled in one by one into the Tramp (Chica Brava Land Cruiser), we cranked up the toons and talked about how hungry we were! Everyone was excited to get to our first stop, Kathy’s Waffle House. This is by far the best place to eat in Granada, if not Nicaragua!

Everyone filled up on coffee, waffles, pancakes, hash browns and eggs. If this was a buffet they would have been out of business for the day, Naomi and Sarah! We over indulged and hyped ourselves up on delicious coffee, to rome thru the city by carriage. Before hopping on the horse drawn carriages we participated in a little team building activity.

Every team member impersonated what animal they would be, Belki’s mouse impression was the best! While these might be silly games, they are an awesome way to bond with each other, especially since there is a language barrier with some of the staff.

Next, we piled into the carriages and rode around Granada like queens and kings! Our tour guide explained some of the history of Granada and pointed out some of the historical sites. When we arrived to the water’s edge, our boat was waiting. Everyone stopped to pose for some pictures and than we started on a cruise around the lake. ‘Let me take a selfie!’

The lake was unbelievable stunning and the islands were equally as pretty. We pulled up alongside the infamous Monkey Island, and we all scrambled to find an Oreo to give to the monkey! Although, the monkey didn’t come onto the boat, she did take a cookie right out of Denise’s hand.

As we entered the dock, birds were chirping and children were playing, the day had been a success. We take a team trip about once every six weeks and they are an important part of our Chica Brava bond.

We drove back to San Juan del Sur, not as coworkers but as a family. Thank you LadyBrava and Ashley for given us this amazing opportunity to bond as a team!
